Building Strong Bodies, Empowering Healthy Minds

Promoting lifelong wellness by teaching students the skills and knowledge needed for healthy living, physical fitness, and positive decision-making in a supportive and active environment.

The Health & Physical Education curriculum at Mount Vernon Senior High is designed to promote the overall well-being of students by focusing on physical fitness, health education, and positive lifestyle choices. Through a variety of activities, students engage in exercises that build strength, endurance, and flexibility while learning the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle. The curriculum also covers essential health topics such as nutrition, mental health, personal safety, and substance abuse prevention, equipping students with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions.

In addition to physical activities, the program encourages teamwork, leadership, and goal-setting skills, helping students develop confidence and a strong sense of personal responsibility. Courses are structured to meet the diverse needs and interests of all students, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can succeed. Parents can expect their children to graduate with a solid foundation in both physical fitness and health literacy, prepared to lead balanced, healthy lives.
