Social Worker

"Empowering Students to Thrive Inside and Outside the Classroom."A Safe Space. A Steady Support.
At Mount Vernon High School, the school social worker plays an important role in supporting students’ social, emotional, and mental well-being. High school can bring exciting opportunities as well as challenges, and the social worker is here to help students navigate both. Services include individual and small-group support, assistance during times of crisis or transition, and helping students build coping skills, resilience, and healthy peer relationships. The school social worker also partners with families and connects them with valuable community resources to ensure students have the support they need both inside and outside of school.
At MVHS, Nyssaa Luckey serves in this role. Ms. Luckey is committed to helping students and families feel supported throughout their high school journey. Families are encouraged to reach out with any questions or concerns—she is always happy to help.
