Summer School
MVHS Summer School
Mount Vernon High School offers a Summer School Program designed to support student learning, provide academic intervention, and help students stay on track for success. Summer school gives students the opportunity to strengthen skills, recover credit when applicable, and prepare for the upcoming school year in a focused, supportive environment.
Programs are offered for eligible students based on academic need and district recommendations. Instruction is provided by certified Mount Vernon City Schools teachers and aligns with district curriculum and academic standards.
Program Details
- Eligibility: Determined by academic performance, teacher recommendation, and district guidelines
- Instruction: In-person, teacher-led instruction
- Focus Areas: Core academic subjects, skill reinforcement, and credit recovery (when applicable)
- Attendance: Regular attendance is required for successful completion of the program
Families of eligible students will receive information regarding dates, times, locations, transportation, and enrollment procedures directly from the school or district.
Important Information
- Summer school is not optional for students who are required to attend.
- Transportation and meal information will be communicated prior to the start of the program, if applicable.
- Students are expected to follow all school and district policies while attending summer school.
